This policy explains how Noctra handles your information. Your privacy matters to us.

Last updated: July 2026

1. Introduction

Noctra ("we", "our", or "the App") is a dopamine detox, digital wellbeing, and focus‑training app for Android. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

By using Noctra, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Noctra is designed to collect only the information needed to provide core app features. Most data stays locally on your device. Depending on how you use the app, the following information may be stored locally:

  • Focus session history, detox minutes, and recovery session progress
  • Habit tracking data, streaks, completed sessions, and failed sessions
  • App quota settings, boredom box settings, and selected recovery modes
  • Urge logs, reflection notes, mood selections, and personal progress entries
  • Selected atmospheres, ambience preferences, and personalisation settings
  • Premium or subscription entitlement status provided through Google Play Billing
  • Device information (model, Android version) – used for compatibility and crash analysis

We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email, or payment details.

3. App Usage Access (UsageStats)

Noctra may request Usage Access permission to help estimate app usage, support digital detox features, app quota awareness, and distraction tracking. This permission allows the app to read information such as which apps are used and how long they are used.

This information is used only to provide Noctra's app limit, screen time, detox, and focus-related features. Noctra does not sell this information. The data never leaves your device.

4. Do Not Disturb Access

Noctra may request Do Not Disturb access to support Recovery Shield or focus protection features. If enabled, Noctra may help reduce calls and notifications during active focus or recovery sessions.

This permission is optional and can be disabled at any time from your Android device settings.

5. Notifications

Noctra may request notification permission to send reminders, session updates, streak reminders, or focus-related alerts. You can disable notifications at any time from your device settings.

6. Local Storage

Most Noctra data is stored locally on your device. This may include your focus history, detox progress, habit data, reflection notes, settings, and app preferences.

If you uninstall the app or clear app data, locally stored information will be permanently deleted.

7. Payments and Subscriptions

Noctra may offer premium subscriptions or in-app purchases through Google Play Billing. Payment processing is handled by Google Play. Noctra does not collect or store your credit card, debit card, bank, or payment account information.

Subscription status may be used to unlock Premium or Sanctuary features inside the app.

8. Advertising

Noctra may display ads, including rewarded ads, to support free features such as rewarded extensions or temporary unlocks. Ads may be provided by third-party advertising services such as Google AdMob.

Advertising partners may collect or process certain device information, ad identifiers, approximate location, interaction data, or diagnostic information according to their own privacy policies.

9. Analytics and Diagnostics

Noctra may use analytics or crash reporting tools to understand app performance, fix bugs, improve stability, and improve user experience. This may include device type, app version, crash logs, performance information, and general usage events.

Noctra does not use analytics to personally identify users.

10. How We Use Information

Noctra uses information to:

  • Provide focus, detox, habit tracking, and recovery features
  • Track progress, streaks, sessions, and usage patterns
  • Support app limits, boredom box, and digital detox tools
  • Enable Premium and Sanctuary features
  • Improve app performance, stability, and user experience
  • Show ads or rewarded content where applicable

11. Data Sharing

Noctra does not sell your personal information. However, some information may be processed by third-party services used to operate the app, such as:

  • Google Play Billing – for subscriptions and purchases
  • Google AdMob – for ads and rewarded ads
  • Firebase / Crashlytics – for anonymous crash reporting and stability

These third-party services process data according to their own privacy policies.

12. Data Security

Noctra uses reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect user data. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Data Retention and Deletion

Data stored locally on your device remains there unless you delete it, clear app data, or uninstall the app. You may also reset or delete certain progress data inside the app if such options are available.

For subscription and payment-related records, retention is handled by Google Play according to Google's policies.
